Biography

Short Description

Danijel Hekić is not attested in the standard martyrologies, episcopal catalogues, or hagiographical dictionaries used for the history of the saints. No reliable historical source consulted in compiling this notice supplies a verified year of birth or death, a place of origin, or an ecclesiastical career. The Wikidata identifier Q48660609 is associated with the name, but that identifier alone does not constitute a biographical source, and no corresponding article in a major encyclopaedia or national biographical lexicon has been confirmed. The given name Danijel is the ordinary South Slavic form of Daniel and is borne by men in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and neighbouring lands; that onomastic fact does not, by itself, locate this individual in a particular century or diocese.

He does not appear on the historical lists of Bishops of Rome or of Coptic Popes of Alexandria, nor among the Patriarchs or Catholicoi of the Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Coptic, or Church of the East sees. No religious order, marriage, or offspring can be documented. Liturgical calendars do not assign him a feast day, and no patronages of places, professions, or causes are recorded. There is likewise no act of beatification or canonization attached to the name in the published decrees of the Holy See or in the synodal records of the Eastern churches.

Because the subject is obscure in printed historical literature, a fuller life cannot be written without archival work that lies beyond the present notice. Parish registers, civil vital records, or the underlying Wikidata item and its referenced sources would have to be examined before dates, places, or offices could be stated with confidence. Until such evidence is produced, any detailed narrative would be conjecture rather than history, and is therefore withheld.
