Biography

Short Description

Feliciano Martínez Granero is not a figure documented in the standard published martyrologies, papal bulls of canonization or beatification, or widely cited historical dictionaries of the saints. The given name Feliciano is a masculine Spanish form of the Latin Felicianus, and the surnames Martínez and Granero are characteristically Iberian, which together indicate a man of Spanish-speaking origin, but they do not by themselves establish a date, diocese, or religious institute.

No reliable source available for verification supplies a birth year, death year, place of origin, place of death, or burial. In particular, no office-taking date (ordination, episcopal consecration, or similar) may be treated as a substitute for a birth year. Likewise, no process of beatification or canonization under a named pope is attested in the usual reference works, and no feast day or list of patronages appears in the Roman Martyrology or in the principal collections of local cults.

It is therefore not possible to state whether he belonged to a religious order, whether he was married or celibate, or whether he had children. He was not Bishop of Rome and did not hold the office of patriarch or catholicos in any of the churches that use those titles. Any reconstruction of a detailed vita—missionary work, martyrdom, founding of a congregation, or local pastoral career—would be conjecture rather than history.

A careful hagiographical account must stop at this point: the name is recorded (including under Wikidata identifier Q111225001), the linguistic evidence points to a Spanish male, and the remainder of the biographical fields remain unverified pending consultation of primary records such as baptismal registers, diocesan archives, or an actual beatification positio. Until those sources are produced and checked, the responsible course is to leave the factual fields empty rather than to invent a life.
