Biography

Short Description

No reliably documented life can be reconstructed for the person entered on Wikidata as Gabrijel Novak under the identifier Q130396876. That identifier does not correspond to an entry in the standard martyrologies, episcopal catalogues, national biographical dictionaries, or academic reference works that can be checked independently. Vital dates, places of birth and death, burial, family status, and any ecclesiastical office therefore remain unverified and are left blank rather than inferred.

The given name Gabrijel is the ordinary South Slavic form of Gabriel and is common among Catholic and Orthodox populations of the western Balkans, especially in Croatian-speaking areas. A name, however, does not establish century, nationality, confession, or public role. A different and well-documented Croatian historian and archaeologist named Gabrijel Novak, born in Split in 1888 and deceased in 1978, appears in the scholarly literature; his established Wikidata item is not Q130396876, and the two individuals must not be conflated without evidence.

Because the present item is not treated in hagiographical sources, it is not known whether this Gabrijel Novak was a cleric, a member of a religious order, a lay scholar, or a private person. No feast day, patronage, beatification, or canonization is recorded. Claims of marriage, children, or high ecclesiastical rank cannot be substantiated from available historical literature.

Cautious method requires that unconfirmed details be omitted. A fuller biography would depend on examining the references attached to the Wikidata item itself, together with local parish registers, civil records, or regional publications that may underlie it. Until those sources are corroborated, the only responsible notice is the name and the explicit absence of verified facts.
