Biography

Short Description

The name Tarzicij Rabuda does not correspond to any figure securely attested in the principal instruments of Christian hagiography or ecclesiastical biography. Neither the Roman Martyrology, the Greek Synaxarion, the Slavic Prolog, the Acta Sanctorum of the Bollandists, nor the standard modern dictionaries of saints record a saint, blessed, or venerable of this name. The given name Tarzicij is a vernacular rendering, found in Slovene, Croatian, and related South Slavic usage, of the Latin Tarcisius or Tarsicius. That name is famously borne by the Roman acolyte traditionally martyred in late antiquity while carrying the Eucharist; nothing in the dossier of that martyr, however, attaches the byname or family name Rabuda. No pope or major patriarch has ever borne this name.

No bishop, abbot, or religious of the surname or byname Rabuda appears in the standard hierarchical catalogues under a form that can be identified with this subject. The associated Wikidata identifier is of recent mintage and, in the absence of published source citations that can be checked against independent literature, cannot be treated as historical evidence. It is therefore impossible to assign a century, a region of activity, a religious order, or a state of life from verified sources.

Because no vita, necrology, parish-register extract, or scholarly article has been located, claims concerning birth, death, burial, marriage, children, canonization, beatification, feast day, or patronage would be conjectural. Local tradition in a particular parish or family might preserve memory of a priest, monk, or layman so named, but such tradition has not entered the accessible historical record. All structured biographical fields are accordingly left empty rather than filled by inference from the name alone.

Further identification, if it is possible at all, would require archival work in diocesan, monastic, or civil registers of the regions where the name Tarzicij is used, together with any references that may eventually be attached to independent published sources. Until such documentation is produced and critically examined, Tarzicij Rabuda remains an unverified name rather than a reconstructed historical person.
